ByteDance Seed Helps Tsinghua Win RoboCup Championship
The Tsinghua Hephaestus team won the 2025 RoboCup Humanoid League AdultSize championship in Salvador, Brazil — China’s first title in this category. Their victory was powered by the HumanoidKick locomotion algorithm, co-developed by ByteDance Seed and Tsinghua University. This vision-based, end-to-end deep reinforcement learning system integrates ball detection, pursuit, and kicking into a unified strategy, enabling real-time decision-making and seamless simulation-to-reality performance. The achievement marks a milestone in competitive robotics and paves the way for broader real-world applications of general-purpose intelligent robots.
